Amelia Chukwudera Onuorah was born on the 29th of January 2003 in Luton, England, where she has spend her childhood. She has Nigerian heritage with British citizenship. She has an older sister that does musical theatre. She was scouted by a manager around the same time as Yssy. Amelia and Yssy met thanks to him and as they say became instant friends. At the start of their career she has lived with Yssys family and sleeping on their couch. Before Say Now she was supposed to study fashion public relations in London College of Fashion after finishing college in Luton.

Ysabelle ,,Yssy” Angeli Labiano Saluahera was born on the 4th of march 2004 in Birmingham, England, where she has lived most of her life. She has a Philippine background and a British nationality. Before meeting Amelia, she was set to enter her second year of Birmingham Ormiston Academy.

Madeline ,,Maddy” Daisy Haynes was born on 25th of September 2003 in London, England. She has joined girls after Amelia found her on social media, also Yssy said that she saw her in the audience before. Maddies mom, Mandy Perkins, has been a part of Duece, which was a British pop group in the ‘90s. She was a child actor and when she was older she even was a part of big musical productions on West end, such as: Les Misérables, Matilda and has played the main role in musical Annie in Birmingham Hippodrome. Before being a part of the group she was attending ArtsEd.

The group formed as a duo consisting of Ysabelle Salvanera and Amelia Onuorah, who became signed to Atlantic Records UK. The pair met Madeleine Haynes through social media, with her subsequently joining the lineup of the group. All of the members quit their respective courses to join the group. The group are managed by Modest! Management, notable for managing the early careers of British pop groups One Direction and Little Mix. They gained attention online in 2022 with their cover of Drake's song "Massive". In 2023, the group released the singles "Better Love", "Not a Lot Left to Say", and "Netflix (Better Now Without You)". The UK's Official Charts Company praised "Not a Lot Left to Say", calling it a "breezy bop par excellence" and a contender for "song of the summer".

The group were untitled for their first year, releasing music under their temporary moniker needanamebro, but they revealed their official name via social media on 25 July 2023. In an interview with Glamour, they said that Love Always, Truth Say and GIRL (an acronym for Girls in Real Life) were almost chosen until Haynes suggested the name Say Now. As well as the announcement of their name being Say Now, they released a digital compilation album, Needanamebro. The track listing collated their singles released to date, as well as remixes, a snippet of a new song and their cover of "Massive".

At the 2024 Glamour Awards, the group won the Rising Star award. That same year, the group released singles including "Bitch Get Out My Car", "Trouble" and "Makeup Sex". The music video for "Trouble" featured Girls Aloud member Nadine Coyle. They also supported Kylie Minogue at BST Hyde Park in 2024. In February 2025, the group supported Omar Rudberg on the UK leg of his tour. That same month, they released the single "Don't Text Don't Call", a year after first teasing its chorus on social media. It was followed up by the singles "Forever", "Can't Keep a Beat" and "Brick By Brick". In October 2025, they released the song "Supermarket", as well as featuring as the cover stars of NME. That same month, they supported Jade for a London date of her 2025 concert tour. In November of that year, they had a concert tour in London. March 2026 saw them release the single "Millions". Later in 2026, they are set to release a musical project, as well as performing on the main stage at the 2026 Mighty Hoopla festival at Brockwell Park. They will also make their debut at the Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2026.
