Surduk
Village in Vojvodina, Serbia
Surduk (Serbian Cyrillic: Сурдук) is a village in Serbia. It is situated in the Stara Pazova Municipality, in the Srem District of the Vojvodina Autonomous Province. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and its population numbering 1,202 people (2022 census).
01Name
Surduk derives its name from the Turkish word for the cliffs near the Danube river. In ancient times it was known as Rittium. In Serbian it is known as Surduk, and in Hungarian as Szurdok.
