Solarino

Solarino (Sicilian: San Paulu) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Syracuse, Sicily (Italy). It is about 190 kilometres (120 mi) southeast of Palermo and about 15 kilometres (9 mi) west of Syracuse. As of 31 December 2006, it had a population of 7,365 and an area of 13.01 square kilometres (5.02 mi2).

The father of Italian Australian Martial artist Sam Greco was born in Solarino, eventually settling in Melbourne, Australia.

Solarino borders the following municipalities: Floridia, Palazzolo Acreide, Priolo Gargallo, Syracuse, Sortino.
